Delhi University Will Establish Three Departments That Offers New B.Tech Programmes

University of Delhi wants to start new programs in Science branch with 120 places for each B.Tech program. The UGC has sanctioned around 70 apprenticeships for these three new departments. The University of Delhi wants to set up three faculties, each with 120 places for prospective students. The University Grants Commission (UGC) has also approved 70 teaching positions for each of the three B.

Technological programs. DU (University of Delhi) submitted a proposal to UGC (University Grants Commission) to establish these three departments under the Faculty of Technology, namely

  • Computer Science 
  • Electronics and Communications 
  • Electrical Engineering 

Students are only admitted to these three departments if they pass the JEE-Main (Joint Entrance Examination). The proposal from these departments will be submitted to the Academic Council, which will meet next month. DU was planned or initiated as DCE and NSIT are no longer affiliated with the university. Therefore, it no longer offers engineering programs to students.” – said a senior official from the University of Delhi  (DU).

DU  also set up a writing committee to design the entire course including the syllabus, assessments, objectives, assessment cell, content, structure, and timeline to plan the entire B program. The University of Delhi announced its November 5th notification establishing the Committee (DU), signed by Chancellor Vikas Gupta. “This committee is chaired by D.S. Chauhan,  former Vice-Chancellor (VC) of  Uttar Pradesh Technical Committee

The final report of the  DU Editorial Board has already submitted the proposal to the University Grants Commission (UGC) of India.” – The official member confirmed this update. The charter committee should consider the following issues related to the establishment of the new departments and formulate a strategic structure for implementing its recommendations. The feasibility and the structure of the entire establishment of these departments are carried out under the Faculty of Technology.
